Hayashi Sushi & Grill began in Williamsburg thirty years ago as a cozy steakhouse where the sizzle of hibachi met the precision of sushi. Committed to fresh ingredients and genuine hospitality, we quickly became a local favorite. Two decades later, we expanded to Oyster Point City Center in Newport News, unveiling a sleek, metropolitan dining space accented with warm woods and subtle Japanese motifs. Here, our chefs continue to delight guests with interactive hibachi performances and elegantly crafted sushi. As we celebrate three decades, we remain dedicated to innovation—seasonal menus, chef-led workshops, and cultural events—and to making every meal a memorable celebration of flavor, skill, and community. When we opened our Newport News restaurant in City Center it was to continue in the tradition of a Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi Bar with a nod to the updated look you might find in an upscale metropolitan restaurant.
